Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Contact Center Agent I to support applicants and contractors participating in home energy and sustainability programs. This is a hybrid role based in Huntersville, NC with part-time and full-time openings. The role handles inbound and outbound contacts across phone, email, chat, and web to help applicants navigate program options, eligibility, and documentation. Estimated pay (for this posting): $37,506 per year (estimated).


What You’ll Do

  • Respond to inbound inquiries via phone, email, live chat, and web with prompt, knowledgeable support
  • Conduct outbound calls for status updates, missing documentation, and re-engagement
  • Explain program options, eligibility criteria, timelines, and required documentation to applicants
  • Guide contractors through application steps, documentation, and project requirements
  • Maintain accurate CRM records for applications, escalations, and support requests
  • Review and verify documentation for completeness and evaluate applications against program guidelines
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to user accounts, credentials, and program systems
  • Take ownership of complex or sensitive escalations and work toward timely, compliant resolutions
  • Identify recurring issues, document root causes, and raise suggestions for process improvements
  • Help update SOPs, scripts, and FAQs; participate in QA reviews and peer mentorship

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer support, contact centers, claims processing, or application processing
  • Experience handling escalations and resolving sensitive issues
  • Comfortable learning new systems and guiding users through online platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to learn new software quickly; familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a customer-first mindset

  • Primary location: Huntersville, NC (hybrid schedule available following initial onboarding)
  • Openings: Part-time and full-time
  • Employment types: FULL_TIME | PART_TIME
  • This role requires work in the U.S.; eligibility to work in the U.S. is required
