What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level M&A Analyst to support merger & acquisition engagements across two primary tracks: Analytics and Business (Financial Due Diligence). You will work on transaction-focused teams to deliver data-driven insights, technical accounting analysis, and actionable recommendations that help clients make confident deal decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support buy-side and sell-side diligence, merger integration, and post-transaction analysis
- Collect, clean, and prepare financial and operational data from ERP and other systems
- Build analyses, dashboards, and repeatable workflows to surface value drivers (using Excel, SQL, Python, Alteryx)
- Create visualizations and presentations (Tableau, Power BI, PowerPoint) to communicate findings
- Assist with technical accounting reviews: purchase accounting, consolidations, revenue recognition, leases, intangibles, share-based compensation, and financial instruments
- Evaluate historical and projected earnings, cash flow drivers, contingencies, and quality of assets
- Identify transaction risks/opportunities and contribute to structuring purchase price adjustments and integration planning
- Synthesize findings and present clear, actionable recommendations to deal teams and client stakeholders
- Contribute to innovation efforts that improve analytic toolsets and engagement efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and expected to graduate by Spring/Summer 2027 with a bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, or a closely related field
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0
- Ability to commute to the assigned office and co-locate on average ~30%–50% of the week as required by project/client needs
- Willingness to travel up to 50% on average for client engagements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
- At least 18 years of age at time of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Familiarity with data manipulation and analytics tools: SQL, Python, Alteryx
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations: Tableau, Power BI
- Coursework or progress toward CPA educational requirements (where applicable to the office location)
- Relevant internship or professional experience in accounting, finance, or analytics
- Demonstrated leadership (clubs, societies, athletics) and community or volunteer involvement
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Compensation & Work Location
- Estimated compensation: the original posting lists an estimated figure of $123,500 per year (site estimate) and also references a separate reasonable estimate of $85,000. These figures are estimates and actual pay will depend on skills, experience, location, and other factors.
- This role is based in Highland Park, TX. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance of the assigned office and able to co-locate when required.
