The Forensic Investigations Analyst at Confidential Client combines investigative expertise with advanced data analytics and technology to support clients in detecting and responding to fraud, corruption, and complex risks. This role involves leveraging quantitative methods and project management skills to deliver insights and quality deliverables for investigations, litigation, and risk mitigation efforts. What You’ll Do
- Combine investigative techniques with data analytics and modern tooling to support forensic and transactional investigations.
- Use statistical, quantitative, and rules-based approaches — including predictive modeling — to surface insights related to fraud, anti‑corruption compliance, and enterprise fraud risk.
- Review business records, compile facts, and extract evidence to support matters under investigation or litigation.
- Contribute to investigations across accounting and fraud matters, False Claims Act cases, and complex business litigation.
- Prepare clear client deliverables: presentations, reports, and exhibits that summarize findings and support recommendations.
- Execute work plans, perform quality control, and help establish processes to maintain high-quality deliverables on engagements.
- Communicate technical findings effectively to internal teams and client stakeholders in both written and verbal form.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data analysis and investigative work for fraud, corruption, whistleblower, and other forensic engagements.
- Leverage tools (Excel, SQL, Python, and visualization platforms) to analyze large datasets and identify anomalies.
- Draft sections of client reports, document methodologies, and support the development of damages theories or claims as needed.
- Work both independently and collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams; manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Travel to client sites when required (up to 25% on average).
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with expected graduation Spring/Summer 2027, or a completed bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Data Analytics, Forensics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic record (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Able to reside within commutable distance of the assigned office and commute daily if required.
- Minimum age: 18 years at the time of employment.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and basic project/organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Windows-based systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred.
- Internship or other relevant professional experience in a consulting, accounting, or investigative role.
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, SQL, C#, Visual Basic, Shell scripting, EnScript, .NET framework, Perl or similar).
- Familiarity with database technologies, financial systems, and ETL concepts.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or QlikView.
- Interest in forensic analytics, fraud detection, anti‑corruption compliance, and litigation support work.
Skills & Tools
- Analytical thinking, problem solving, and basic statistical reasoning.
- Data manipulation and querying (Excel, SQL, Python or equivalent).
- Report writing and presentation development for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative mindset; ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Project/time management with the ability to balance multiple engagements.
Compensation & Hiring Notes
- The client provides a reasonable estimate for this role: $85,000 per year. Actual pay offered will consider experience, skills, education, and relevant factors in accordance with applicable law.
