What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Cyber Analyst to join its Government & Public Services practice in Sacramento, CA. In this role you will support client engagements that strengthen cybersecurity posture across people, process, and technology. This is a hands-on, client-facing consulting role ideal for candidates building a career in cybersecurity within the public sector.

  • Support vulnerability assessments and analyze systems/networks for security gaps
  • Assist with threat detection, monitoring, and incident response activities
  • Contribute to risk assessments, compliance reviews, and remediation planning
  • Help design and implement security controls and defensive configurations
  • Prepare clear, client-ready deliverables and recommendations
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to execute transformation initiatives
  • Participate in client meetings and communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders

The Team

Confidential Client’s Government & Public Services practice works with government agencies, higher education, nonprofits, and other public-sector organizations. Teams deliver strategy, operations, and technology services to improve mission outcomes and organizational performance. You’ll have opportunities to rotate across projects, gain exposure to diverse client environments, and develop a specialization in cybersecurity.


Qualifications (Required)

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university expected to graduate by Summer 2027, or have completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Mathematics, Risk Management, or an equivalent program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must reside within a commutable distance (e.g., ~100-mile radius) of the assigned Sacramento office and be able to commute daily if required
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, depending on client needs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and a professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Internship, project, or coursework experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability assessment, incident response, data analytics, information security, or related fields
  • Familiarity with common security tools and methods (threat detection, log analysis, vulnerability scanning) — note: specific tools are not required for application

Compensation & Location

  • Salary estimate: $88,000 to $91,000 per year (disclosed range). This estimate reflects typical starting compensation for this role and may be adjusted based on skills, experience, certifications, and geographic differentials.
  • Location: Sacramento, CA (on-site or client site as required). You must be within commuting distance of the assigned office.
  • Travel: Up to 50% on average, depending on client engagements.
