What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is recruiting entry-level Cyber Analysts to join their Government & Public Services teams. As a Cyber Analyst you will contribute to client engagements that identify, assess, and reduce cyber risk across systems and networks. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct vulnerability and security posture assessments for client systems and networks
- Support threat detection and incident response activities
- Assist in designing and implementing technical and process-based security controls
- Produce clear, consumable findings and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Help maintain compliance and risk-management artifacts and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen clients’ cybersecurity resiliency
- Participate in client-facing meetings and deliverables; support project tasks and workstreams
The Team
The Government & Public Services practice serves federal, state, and local agencies, higher education, and nonprofit organizations. Teams work across strategy, operations, technology, and transformation to improve mission outcomes. You’ll join a collaborative, learning-focused group that supports skill development, client impact, and professional growth.
Qualifications (Required)
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with expected graduation by Summer 2027 OR have completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Mathematics, Risk Management, or equivalent
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must reside within a commutable distance (for example, within a 100-mile radius) of the assigned office and be able to commute daily if required
- Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on client and project needs
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
- At least 18 years of age at time of employment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher
- Internship, project, or coursework experience in computer science, cybersecurity, data analytics, information security, or related fields
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, SIEMs, or incident response processes
Compensation & Employment Type
- Employment type: FULL_TIME
- Estimated salary range (provided by source): $88,000 – $91,000 per year. This range reflects various factors including skills, experience, and location-specific differentials. Final pay will be determined by the Confidential Client based on candidate qualifications.
Location & Travel
- Primary work location: Fort Myer, VA (22212)
- You must be able to commute to the assigned office as required and be located within a commutable distance (e.g., ~100-mile radius).
- Travel: up to 50% on average depending on project assignments.
