Role Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an entry-level Consultant I for the Chicago, IL office. This is an on-site position with an expected start in the summer of 2027. The Consultant I role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals with strong quantitative aptitude who want to build skills in data processing, statistical analysis, and litigation-focused economic consulting.


What You’ll Do

  • Convert raw case and client data into analytical files and verify data integrity
  • Clean, process, and prepare datasets for analysis and production
  • Run statistical analyses (t-tests, chi-square tests, regressions, etc.) and produce charts, tables, and results summaries
  • Use SAS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to analyze and present findings
  • Gather and merge data from multiple sources (OCR, file parsing, manual entry, public datasets)
  • Assist with quality control and review of Research Assistant work
  • Support project teams with research (e.g., BLS, U.S. Census) and document summarization
  • Occasionally assist with on-site data collection (observational studies or surveys) and travel as needed

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field (Master’s a plus)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience or coursework with statistical/data programming (SAS, R, STATA, Python, SQL, or VBA)
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic economic and statistical concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Capable of learning new tools and methods quickly
  • Excellent teamwork and written/verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable handling shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and occasional extended hours
  • Interest in litigation consulting, empirical analysis, and translating technical results into clear, client-facing narratives

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Annual salary range: $97,300 – $103,000 (subject to required deductions and withholdings)
  • Employment type: Full-time; position also may be posted as Contractor in some contexts
  • Exempt from overtime pay under applicable federal and state law
  • This is an entry-level role — no prior professional experience is required

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Location: Chicago, IL — on site
  • Start timeframe: Summer 2027
  • Occasional travel may be required for certain projects
