About the Role
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring a Consultant I to join a Labor & Employment practice in Austin, TX. This is an entry-level, on-site role expected to start in the summer of 2027. No prior professional experience is required to apply. The Consultant I will support data processing, statistical analysis, and litigation-related deliverables used in wage & hour, discrimination, misclassification, and other employment-related matters.
What You’ll Do
- Use SAS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to analyze data and present results internally and to clients
- Gather data from diverse file formats via SAS programming, OCR, manual entry, or other methods
- Clean, verify and process data; maintain strict quality control and data integrity
- Perform statistical analyses (t-tests, chi-square tests, regressions) and produce charts/tables for reports
- Assist with data collection efforts (e.g., observational studies or in-person surveys) when needed
- Supervise and review Research Assistant work and support staff at all levels with project tasks
- Research supplemental data sources (Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census, etc.)
- Review and summarize documents; prepare materials for production, depositions, or expert reports
- Travel occasionally for certain projects
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field (Master’s a plus)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with statistical or data programming languages such as SAS, R, STATA, Python, SQL, or VBA
- Demonstrated understanding of economic and statistical concepts
- High attention to detail and strong quality-control instincts
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities; willingness to work extended or irregular hours as project needs require
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a solid work ethic
- Experience in litigation or consulting is a strong plus
Compensation & Work Type
- Annual salary: $97,300 — $103,000 (exempt)
- Employment type: Full-time / Contractor (per the client’s classification)
- Location: Austin, TX — on-site (occasional travel may be required)
