What You’ll Do

Our Confidential Client, a reputable commercial general contractor serving the Greater Milwaukee area, is hiring an Entry‑Level Construction Project Engineer to support commercial building projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with planning, execution, and closeout of commercial construction projects
  • Support and update project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Attend project meetings and record minutes and action items
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project correspondence
  • Track and distribute construction documents and revisions
  • Maintain accurate project files, logs, and records
  • Assist with permit and inspection coordination
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety
  • Help resolve field issues and coordinate subcontractor activities with Superintendents
  • Verify work aligns with plans and specifications
  • Support safety initiatives and compliance on job sites
  • Assist with budget tracking, change orders, and forecasting
  • Monitor procurement schedules and material deliveries
  • Participate in progress reporting and status updates
  • Help identify and mitigate project risks and delays

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field
  • Internship or co‑op experience with a general contractor preferred
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred

  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction management tools
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
  • Knowledge of commercial construction practices and delivery methods
  • OSHA 10 certification

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay range: $75,000 – $110,000 (USD) per year (range provided by source). Actual salary offered will depend on experience, qualifications, location, and other job‑related factors.
