What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a full-time Construction Project Engineer based in Saint Louis, MO. This is a post‑graduate, entry‑level project engineering role focused on hands‑on field work and learning commercial construction management through a structured training program.
- Support superintendents and project managers on active healthcare construction projects
- Perform field inspections and review workmanship for quality
- Prepare and maintain schedules; monitor progress against milestone dates
- Process and track change orders and contract documentation
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and coordination with trade contractors
- Monitor and promote jobsite safety and compliance
- Lead and participate in project meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate across departments (preconstruction, estimating, operations) to support successful project delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four‑year college or university
- 2–3 years of industry‑related experience preferred (entry‑level candidates considered)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); aptitude for construction software
- Ability to travel across Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Illinois to support regional projects — must be able to travel up to 6–8 hours from home
- Demonstrated attention to detail, a safety‑first mindset, and a willingness to learn on the job
Training & Career Path
This role enters Confidential Client’s Project Engineer Training Program — a 3–4 year curriculum comprising ~24 learning modules designed to rotate you through core commercial construction responsibilities. Graduates commonly progress to roles such as Project Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Business Development, or Superintendent.
