Construction Project Engineer
The Construction Project Engineer supports the management of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout by assisting Project Managers and Superintendents. This role involves coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards. What You’ll Do
This entry-level Construction Project Engineer will support commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to help deliver safe, on-schedule, on-budget, high-quality work.
- Assist Project Managers with planning, execution, and closeout of commercial construction projects
- Support project schedules, budgets, change orders, and forecasting
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project correspondence
- Track and distribute construction documents and revisions
- Participate in project meetings; prepare meeting minutes and action items
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Assist superintendents with field coordination and resolving on-site issues
- Help coordinate permits, inspections, procurement schedules, and material deliveries
- Maintain accurate project files, logs, and documentation for reporting
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field
- Internship or co-op experience with a general contractor preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction management software
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
- OSHA 10 certification
- Knowledge of commercial construction practices and delivery methods
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $75,000 – $110,000 (annual) — actual offer will depend on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
