What You’ll Do

This role supports a major projects team for a confidential client, providing project management support on complex mechanical and plumbing construction projects across the greater Seattle area. It is an excellent early-career opportunity to develop mechanical systems knowledge while working on large hospital and healthcare construction projects.

• Provide project management support to project managers: communication, negotiation, scheduling, document control, cost forecasting, and profitability tracking.
• Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs to support project financials.
• Assist with buyout and procurement of major equipment and subcontracts and expedite deliveries to maintain schedules.
• Maintain and control project documents to meet internal and contractual standards.
• Collaborate with field supervision to plan, organize, and schedule work; prepare integrated subcontract and contract schedules.
• Review contract and detail drawings and specifications for coordination and installation accuracy.
• Prepare fabrication shop work packages: material take-offs, buyout, and man-hour fabrication budgets.
• Support superintendents, foremen, engineers, detailers, and management to deliver safe, quality, and profitable projects.
• Use and learn software tools such as MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, OneDrive, MS Teams, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Viewpoint Vista, Revit, and Stratus.
• Support estimating and BIM coordination activities as needed.

What We’re Looking For (Essential Skills)

• At least 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer with a mechanical contractor.
• At least 1 year tracking construction materials and labor on active projects.
• At least 1 year communicating with subcontractors and clients about schedules.
• Construction/project management experience, with emphasis on mechanical and plumbing scopes.
• Experience with change order processes and procurement tracking.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word; ability to learn tools such as Bluebeam and Smartsheet.
• Strong organizational skills for document control and schedule coordination.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret contract drawings, detail drawings, and specifications.
• Commitment to jobsite safety and reliable onsite attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management (entry-level candidates with this education are welcome).
• Mechanical design coursework or experience.
• BIM coordination exposure or coursework with coordinated models.
• Experience with submittal processing, RFIs, and change orders (nice to have).
• Experience supporting estimating activities for mechanical construction projects (nice to have).
• Proactive problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively across field and office teams.

Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite at a major hospital construction project in Lakewood, WA, with travel between jobsites across the greater Seattle area (generally Tacoma to Lynnwood). The role spends time in active construction environments and requires close collaboration with field supervision and trades. Training is provided for many software systems. Safety, professionalism, and teamwork are emphasized.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a Contract-to-Hire position based out of Lynnwood, WA (fully onsite). The pay range is $36.00 - $43.00 per hour. Benefits for eligible employees may include:
