What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Construction Project Engineer to join their commercial construction team in Davenport, IA. This is a hands-on, field-focused role designed for recent graduates or early-career professionals entering a structured Project Engineer (PE) training program.
- Support the superintendent and project manager on active commercial construction sites
- Assist with scheduling and tracking project progress
- Prepare and process change orders and submittals
- Draft, review, and follow up on RFIs
- Monitor jobsite safety and enforce safety practices
- Review work for quality and conformance to specifications
- Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities and communications
- Lead and document on-site meetings and progress updates
- Maintain project documentation and use Microsoft Office tools for reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or equivalent education/experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Comfortable working primarily in the field on active construction sites
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn through a formal training program
Training & Career Path
This is a post‑graduate, entry‑level position within a 3–4 year PE training curriculum. The program includes 24 learning modules that rotate you through core areas of commercial construction management. Typical career outcomes after program completion include Project Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Business Development, or Superintendent.
