Position Overview

This confidential client is hiring an entry-level Construction Management Engineer / Construction Management Associate for a Remote (US) field-assignment role with a target start in Summer 2027. This is a full-time, contractor role that will include substantial travel and extended field assignments; per diem may be provided for qualifying assignments. You’ll support onsite construction and commissioning teams, help manage schedules, cost and quality, and help ensure projects are delivered safely and on budget.


What You’ll Do

  • Support development of project-specific construction management and commissioning work plans
  • Perform home-office or remote pre-construction planning prior to field mobilization
  • Assist site construction management and commissioning staff during field assignments
  • Monitor construction and commissioning progress, cost, quality, scope, and safety
  • Manage and mitigate construction and commissioning work risks
  • Report construction progress and cost to the Project Manager or Owner
  • Attend project performance review meetings and produce concise updates
  • Plan construction process elements: schedules, phasing, and lookaheads
  • Maintain and update project schedules and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure job sites remain safe, clean, and orderly; escalate field conflicts as needed
  • Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and the internal construction team to resolve on-site issues
  • Support supervision of field staff, provide constructive feedback, and coordinate staffing requests
  • Help keep projects on estimated costs and support profitable outcomes

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Some hands-on experience in industrial construction management (internship or similar)
  • General understanding of construction labor and labor planning practices
  • Familiarity with project controls tools and basic cost/schedule tracking methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Good organizational and time-management skills; ability to work in fast-paced field environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or guide others in potentially adversarial situations
  • Ability to travel extensively for field assignments

Valued (Not Required) / Technical Preferences

  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from ABET-accredited BSCM, MSCM, BSEE, or MSEE programs
  • Demonstrated leadership experience on campus or in community activities; 3.0+ GPA preferred
  • Comfort using data, automation, or AI tools to solve engineering problems and improve workflows
  • Programming or scripting (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations or reporting is valued but not required
  • Any coursework or certificates in Computer Science, AI, or Software Engineering that support automation efforts

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $62,998 - $90,586 per year (range disclosed to comply with pay-transparency laws)
  • Role type: Full-time, Contractor (field assignments; remote work and travel)
  • Eligible positions may include a comprehensive benefits package and discretionary yearly bonus where applicable
  • Per-diem may apply for qualifying travel assignments
