Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry‑Level Construction Estimator based in South Des Moines, IA. This full‑time, hands‑on role supports commercial door, frame, hardware and related security product estimating for projects across commercial construction segments. You'll work with blueprints and specifications, use estimating software, and support pre‑bid reviews to deliver accurate, competitive proposals.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to prepare accurate estimates for doors, frames, hardware and related items.
• Use estimating software to price materials and labor from drawings and specifications.
• Participate in pre‑bid reviews and coordinate with project teams to validate assumptions and scope.
• Track estimate inputs and maintain clear documentation for quote decisions.
• Manage multiple estimating projects under deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the estimating team and sales process.

Who You Are / Minimum Qualifications

• Entry‑level to early career candidate with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Detail oriented with solid critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and maintain a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus; training is available for estimating software.
• Willingness to be trained, coachable, and a collaborative teammate.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and a security background check as required for some projects.

Nice to Have

• Prior exposure to construction estimating, takeoffs, or commercial door/hardware disciplines.
• Experience with estimating platforms or Microsoft Excel for pricing and reporting.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and commercial construction workflows.
