What You’ll Do

This entry-level Configuration Manager will support a defense systems program by managing configuration artifacts and deliverables across acquisition and lifecycle phases. You will work with government sponsors, ship stakeholders, and internal teams to keep configuration baselines, technical documentation, and delivery records accurate and auditable.

  • Assist in managing configuration deltas across ship classes for Backfit and New Construction efforts
  • Support preparation and maintenance of program requirements and plans per the System Engineering Process (SEP)
  • Participate in peer reviews and coordinate meetings with development, systems, test, and cyber teams
  • Support quarterly and delivery audits (program audits, ready-to-test, delivery certification) under senior CM guidance
  • Maintain inventory of ship software delivery artifacts for Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems
  • Create and update JIRA workflows and dashboards to track progress and key tasking
  • Support program data calls and review preparation
  • Assist in maintaining technical documentation configuration to NAVSEA and government standards
  • Generate ship delivery letters, compile audit packages, and maintain baseline/version control records under supervision
  • Develop training and cross-training materials to support team knowledge transfer
  • Support occasional shipboard work (pier side and at sea) as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or Engineering, OR 4+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a STEM degree
  • US Citizen (must be able to obtain/maintain required government security clearance)
  • Active government security clearance preferred or ability to obtain one
  • Valid US passport or ability to obtain one
  • Willingness/ability to work onboard US Navy ships (pier side and at sea)
  • Availability for up to ~5% travel
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required for shipboard work (climb ladders, carry up to 30 lbs, work in confined spaces)

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with JIRA or similar workflow tracking tools
  • Exposure to DOORS or other requirements-management tools
  • Basic understanding of software configuration management and version control systems
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Technical writing experience or coursework and strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with waterfall or iterative development lifecycles
  • Exposure to SQL or database query tools
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow direction from senior staff

Work Location & Schedule

  • This role is designated onsite at a government facility in Feasterville, PA for the initial six-month training and onboarding period. During that time, daily on-site attendance is expected to build working relationships with government stakeholders and learn program processes and tools.
  • After the initial six months, candidates may be eligible to transition to a hybrid schedule subject to government concurrence and demonstrated independent performance. Final telework/hybrid arrangements will be determined with the government technical lead and our client’s program management.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Primary work performed in an office environment at a government facility, with periodic shipboard work required (pier side and at sea).
  • Shipboard duties require navigating steep stairways/ladders, moving through narrow passageways and confined spaces, and working in variable temperature and ventilation conditions.
  • PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection may be required for shipboard evolutions.
  • Typical physical demands include standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Posted salary range: USD $53,900.00 - USD $84,200.00 /Yr (full-time equivalent)
