About the Role

The Configuration Management (Software Systems) Level I supports the configuration and document control practices for engineering programs. This entry-level role maintains logs, databases, and catalogs; organizes engineering drawings, reports, specifications, proposals and other technical documentation; assigns and monitors document numbers; prepares status and process reports; and reviews documents for accuracy and completeness. You will follow established procedures under supervision and help ensure proper version control and traceability across product lifecycles for the Confidential Client.


Key Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain configuration logs, databases and catalogs.
  • Organize and maintain engineering drawings, project reports, specifications, proposals and technical documentation.
  • Assign, track and monitor document and revision numbers.
  • Prepare process and status reports for configuration activities.
  • Review documents for completeness and accuracy; flag discrepancies for engineering review.
  • Support document control and version-control processes and tools.
  • Follow detailed procedures and work under supervision to meet program and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 0–2 years relevant experience (entry-level).
  • Basic understanding of configuration management tools and software.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Familiarity with document control and version-control concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of engineering and technical terminology.
  • Ability to perform tasks under supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with configuration management tools and software (specific tools a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in an engineering or technical environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $60,885.00 - $83,717.25 per year (range provided by Confidential Client).
  • Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans; retirement plan (401(k) with competitive matching as offered by the Confidential Client); life insurance; paid time off (example: ~3 weeks) and other standard employee benefits. Actual compensation will be determined case-by-case based on experience, skills and internal equity.
