Overview

Confidential client in the Aerospace & Defense sector is hiring a Configuration Analyst (Level II) to support engineering and product lifecycle activities in Eldersburg, MD. This full-time, onsite role supports configuration management (CM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes, CAD documentation updates (CREO 10), and change-control activities. Travel is approximately 10% as required.


What You’ll Do

  • Support configuration management processes to track and control technical documentation, product baselines, and revisions.
  • Lead and facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings: prepare agendas, capture minutes, and drive action items.
  • Assist engineers with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), component/material requests, CAD library requests, and other PLM workflows.
  • Upload and maintain documents and metadata in the PLM system; verify relationships between PLM and supporting systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Produce EC reports, collect metrics, and help prepare presentation updates for stakeholders.
  • Complete CAD and document updates using CREO 10, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and MS Word.
  • Participate in audits and collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance with standards.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of configuration management principles and best practices.
  • Experience managing and controlling product baselines (mechanical/electrical drawings, test documentation, processes).
  • Familiarity with change control workflows and version-control concepts.
  • Proficiency or working knowledge of CREO 10 (CAD) and common engineering documentation tools.
  • Clear verbal and written communication; able to coordinate across functional teams.
  • Knowledge of industry documentation standards and CM procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 0 years relevant experience; OR 6 years relevant experience in project/process administration in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow documented rules and guidelines so technical content meets internal and customer requirements.
  • Entry-level experience with CREO 10 or similar CAD tools.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
  • U.S. citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret (or higher) security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of EIA-649 or MIL-HDBK-61A.
  • Experience with PLM systems (Agile PLM, Teamcenter, CMPro, etc.).
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation types (models, drawings, specifications, change notices, manufacturing plans).
  • Experience in military, government, or commercial aerospace environments.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Deltek, Oracle, SAP, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Primary level salary range: $72,400.00 – $108,600.00 per year.
  • Compensation considers role scope, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Depending on the role, overtime, shift differential, discretionary and/or annual bonuses may apply. Benefits typically include health insurance, life/disability coverage, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO. Exact benefits and bonus eligibility depend on position and location.

Location & Clearance

  • Location: Eldersburg, MD (onsite).
  • Travel: Approximately 10%.
  • Clearance: U.S. citizenship required; candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
