Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the cryptographic security (COMSEC) program in accordance with NSA/CSS and Air Force directives.
• Receive, store, distribute, account for, and securely destroy cryptographic materials, key fill devices, cryptographic equipment, and COMSEC publications.
• Conduct daily, monthly, and annual physical inventories of all COMSEC materials.
• Maintain accurate accountability and custody records for all COMSEC items.
• Process and investigate cryptographic incident reports and potential COMSEC violations or compromises.
• Perform preventive maintenance and operational checks on cryptographic equipment to ensure mission readiness.
• Coordinate with base users to schedule key changes, equipment installs, and transfers.
• Maintain COMSEC facility security standards, including storage, alarms, and access controls.
• Manage personnel access for COMSEC systems and maintain personnel security records relevant to COMSEC access.
• Coordinate with higher headquarters and other installations for cross-domain key distribution and equipment transfers.
• Prepare for and support external COMSEC inspections and assessments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility — must be able to maintain and operate under that clearance level.
• U.S. citizenship (required to hold/obtain required security clearance).
• Security+ certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred; or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a COMSEC environment may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• If degree is held, typically 1–2 years of COMSEC experience is expected to be considered for interview.
• Ability to work on-site at Davis-Monthan AFB (Little Tucson, AZ) and comply with site-specific security and access policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• KMI certification (desired).
• Prior hands-on experience with key fill devices and military COMSEC procedures.
• Demonstrated experience conducting inventories, audits, and incident investigations for COMSEC.
• Strong record-keeping and attention to detail in controlled/secure environments.

• Estimated pay: $77,244 per year (estimated).
• Employment type: Full-time.
