What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking Computer Scientists / Software Developers to join an AI-focused software team supporting a high-visibility defense program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. You'll contribute across the full software lifecycle, from design through integration, and help deliver AI/ML capabilities that support mission objectives.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern languages and frameworks.
- Build, integrate, and deploy AI/ML models, services, and APIs into production software.
- Write, debug, and optimize efficient, maintainable code for both front-end and back-end components.
- Implement and maintain data processing pipelines, database integrations, and model evaluation workflows.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and system integration activities.
- Follow secure software development and DevSecOps practices within a Department of Defense environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust solutions for Army missions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret security clearance (required for consideration).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated programming experience (coursework, internships, capstones, personal projects, or professional work) — evidence such as GitHub links, code samples, or project demonstrations is encouraged.
- Proficiency or experience with one or more of: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript.
- Practical knowledge of AI/ML development and integration (model implementation, evaluation, or using AI/ML libraries).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively on collaborative engineering teams.
Preferred / Technical Skills
Candidates are not expected to know everything listed; we welcome strong fundamentals and a willingness to learn.
- Frameworks & web/backend: React, React Native, FastAPI, REST API design
- Data & storage: SQL / SQLite, data pipelines, model testing/evaluation
- Tooling & workflows: Git/GitHub, DevSecOps practices, CI/CD
- AI/ML: Python ML libraries, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, AI-powered APIs
- Visualization & analytics: Power BI, D3, eCharts
- DoD-relevant platform exposure: Palantir Foundry / Army Vantage (a plus)
- Experience supporting DoD or military programs (beneficial)
