What You’ll Do

  • Work on entry-level programming tasks: develop new code and modify existing code per business requirements.
  • Test, debug, and validate code to ensure quality and alignment with specifications.
  • Participate in regular code reviews with senior developers; accept mentorship and apply feedback to improve code quality and follow secure design patterns.
  • Use source control for checking in changes and collaborating with the team.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Software Development Manager or assigned mentor.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field — OR a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary education plus three (3) years of related work experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to learn and apply programming fundamentals; demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and on a team.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams).
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances (see Additional Eligibility Qualifications).

Preferred Skills & Tools

  • Experience or coursework with SQL or other database software.
  • Familiarity with .NET and object-oriented languages such as C#.
  • Understanding of Clean Architecture principles.
  • Experience creating reusable services, APIs, or application components.
  • Experience with Blazor front-end technology.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (for example, GitHub Copilot).
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
  • Interest in learning and exploring vetted AI tools under organizational review and approval.

Work Arrangement & Compensation

  • Employment type: Full-time (exempt), 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday; twelve-month schedule.
  • Work arrangement: Hybrid — telework from home and/or approved off-site locations is permitted per client telework policy; in-person attendance at the confidential client’s Milton, PA office may be required for client meetings, trainings, or as operational needs dictate. The client may suspend telework privileges at its discretion.
  • Estimated compensation: $65,202 per year (estimated figure from the source posting).

Additional Eligibility & Screening

  • This position requires approved background clearances as mandated by Pennsylvania regulations: Act 34 (PA State Police), Act 151 (PA Child Abuse Registry), and Act 114 (FBI fingerprint) — these must be current and renewed per applicable intervals.
  • Completion of Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training (minimum three hours every five years) is required.

Physical, Travel & Time Expectations

  • Primarily sedentary office work; ability to sit for extended periods, occasional standing/walking; may lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Standard audio-visual acuity (with or without correction) and finger dexterity for computer work.
  • Occasional travel to other work sites, meetings, conferences, or training; occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • May require extra hours during peak workload periods.
