What You’ll Do

Component Lab Tech I — work in a CLIA-regulated component laboratory producing lifesaving blood products and supporting high-quality patient care in Saint Paul, MN.

  • Perform routine manufacturing of blood components following SOPs and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Receive and process whole blood (inline or sterilely connected filters) to create red blood cells, plasma, platelets, and other products.
  • Process apheresis red blood cells and special blood product workflows.
  • Collect and document QC samples from blood products.
  • Apply product labeling for Red Blood Cells, Apheresis, Platelets, and Plasma.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and document activities.
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Adhere to quality control policies; document QC activities, calibrations, and corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Identify issues that may affect test performance or product quality and escalate or correct per protocol.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physical: Must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift; lift up to 50 lbs; good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
  • Experience: Laboratory manufacturing experience using cGMP preferred.
  • Preferred education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow written procedures, and good customer service orientation.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Schedule (2nd Shift): Tuesday–Thursday: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM; Friday & Saturday: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
  • Compensation: $19.80–$21.30 per hour (including applicable shift differentials).
  • Benefits (full- and part-time eligible): medical, vision, dental, paid time off, sick days, and access to a 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution.
