About the role
This opportunity is with a confidential client in the Aerospace & Defense industry. As a Compliance Business Analyst (Entry level), you will analyze compliance and operational data, build reporting, and lead process improvements that reduce risk and improve efficiency. This role is a hands-on analytical position supporting trade compliance, customs reconciliation, and compliance reporting—ideal for candidates with strong Excel skills and foundational SQL/BI experience who want to grow into advanced analytics and process leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes that inform compliance and financial decision-making.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports (Power BI, Excel) to deliver real-time business intelligence to stakeholders.
- Lead or contribute to process improvement projects to standardize workflows for customs reconciliation and reporting.
- Develop controls, metrics, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure data integrity and regulatory adherence.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to compliance and finance leaders; translate technical results for non-technical audiences.
- Partner cross-functionally with compliance, finance, and operations to align data strategies with business requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (1+ years of analysis experience preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Foundational SQL querying skills; familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Comfortable presenting complex analyses using data visualization and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Project management aptitude and ability to drive process change.
- Preferred: exposure to customs reconciliation or trade compliance programs; familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $70,310 - $91,870 (range provided by the confidential client).
- Benefits (provided by the confidential client) may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and employee discounts.

- Job location: Costa Mesa, CA (on-site / local).
