What You’ll Do

This hands-on, entry-level engineering role supports product compliance, quality, and technical initiatives. You will perform product testing and investigations, support certifications and regulatory documentation, and provide internal and external technical support. The role blends compliance work (codes, standards, registrations) with quality investigations, documentation, and customer-facing troubleshooting.

You will work closely with engineering, quality, sales, and operations teams to validate product performance, resolve customer issues, and maintain certification status for products sold by our client.

Responsibilities

• Support product certifications and listings (UL, CSA, FM and other applicable standards)
• Apply codes and standards knowledge to product development and design improvements
• Monitor or participate in industry technical committees that affect product regulations
• Maintain and prepare regulatory documentation (REACH, RoHS, Prop 65)
• Assist with managing certifications, registrations, and ongoing compliance updates
• Perform hands-on product testing to validate customer complaints and support quality efforts
• Investigate returned products and customer quality complaints to determine root cause
• Develop and execute test procedures for investigative and special testing scenarios
• Document findings and communicate results clearly to stakeholders
• Support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) activities within an ISO 9001 quality system
• Assist with PPAP activities, design control, and documentation management
• Provide internal technical support across product lines (basic electrical, mechanical, and fluid principles)
• Support external customers by troubleshooting at job sites when needed
• Translate technical product knowledge into customer-facing solutions, manuals, and sales aids
• Develop and update installation manuals, technical documentation, and application guides
• Support sales by explaining product features, functions, and benefits to customers
• Support internal safety initiatives and contribute to product safety assessments
• Participate in customer and certification audits and assist with follow-up actions
• Conduct vendor audits to evaluate supplier capabilities and quality standards
• Assist with accident or site investigations to determine potential product involvement

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Hands-on mindset with willingness to learn testing and troubleshooting independently
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and/or fluid flow principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with product certifications and regulatory compliance is a plus
• Understanding of quality systems and CAPA processes
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and documentation
• Experience with PPAP and production part documentation is beneficial

Work Environment & Schedule

This role is varied and learning-focused. The position is primarily onsite and involves a mix of lab/testing work, field troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. Typical workload distribution (approximate):

Pay & Benefits

• Pay range: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, geographic factors, and other job-related considerations.
