What You’ll Do

You will join a project-level compliance team supporting government-funded construction projects for a confidential client. This entry-level Compliance Analyst role focuses on ensuring projects meet prevailing wage, payroll reporting, and contract compliance objectives while working closely with project teams and corporate compliance leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws, union agreements, and PLA requirements on assigned projects
  • Prepare, certify, and submit Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) for the confidential client and review subcontractor CPRs for accuracy and timeliness
  • Collect, review, and maintain prevailing-wage–related documentation for employees and trade partners
  • Cross-check payroll submissions against project records to verify correct wage payments to craft workers
  • Conduct weekly on-site worker interviews and perform local project site visits as required
  • Assist with investigations, audits, and resolution of complex prevailing wage issues with third parties
  • Support project compliance start-ups and close-outs; quickly resolve internal audit findings
  • Collaborate with project teams and corporate leadership to recommend and implement process improvements
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll and personnel information
  • Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and reliable attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly, prioritize, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused, collaborative mindset and willingness to work across teams
  • Familiarity with federal contracting, labor regulations, or FAR is a plus
  • Alignment with the client’s standards for ethics, accountability, teamwork, and results

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $60,000–$75,000 per year (range provided by the confidential client)
  • Total compensation package may include bonus potential and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, retirement/401(k) contributions, paid time off, life insurance, disability coverage, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance programs, and other company benefits
  • Compensation may vary based on experience, education, skills, and geographic location

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based work with frequent computer and document review tasks
  • Regular travel to local project sites required; construction site exposure to weather, noise, and equipment is possible
  • Must be able to lift up to ~10 lbs regularly and up to ~25 lbs occasionally
  • Role may require flexibility for extended hours during critical project phases

This role is based in Houston, TX, and requires local travel to project sites.
