What You’ll Do

This entry-level Completions Engineer will join a development program that pairs classroom and on-the-job training with progressive field responsibility. Key duties include:

  • Participate in a structured training program covering completions engineering fundamentals, stimulation design, and well intervention operations
  • Assist senior engineers with preparation of completion and workover programs, detailed operational procedures, and post-job reports
  • Learn and use stimulation and completion modeling tools (e.g., ResFrac) and the client’s well-data systems
  • Support well-site completion, stimulation, and workover operations during field rotations, monitoring treating pressures, rates, volumes, and other operational parameters
  • Conduct on-site inspections, participate in safety meetings and pre-job briefings, and help enforce HSE requirements
  • Collect, analyze, and report completion and stimulation data to help optimize operations and troubleshoot issues
  • Apply field experience back in the office to support completion design, equipment selection, cost estimating, permitting support, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Contribute to post-job reviews and lessons-learned capture to improve procedures and designs

Who We’re Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 0–2 years of related experience — new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication and proven ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to work a 14/14 rotational schedule at remote field locations
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, execution-focused environments with shifting priorities
  • Commitment to safe work practices and environmental compliance

Preferred

  • Internship, co‑op, or field exposure in completions, drilling, or workover operations
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic fracturing, well stimulation, and wellbore construction
  • Familiarity with stimulation or completion modeling software (e.g., ResFrac, Kinetix)
  • Coursework or exposure to risk assessment, hazard analysis, or Management of Change (MOC)
  • Interest in geothermal energy and technically complex, first‑of‑a‑kind well designs

Location & Travel

  • Initial training at the Houston, TX office (approximately 3–4 months)
  • Field rotation (14/14) at client field operations (Milford, UT) for ~1–2 years as a Well Site Completions Engineer
  • Return to Houston office to assume an Operations Completions Engineer role after field development
  • Role is marked as TELECOMMUTE/REMOTE-capable for some activities, but requires on-site field rotations and extended stays at remote locations during the rotation period

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Estimated base: $74,631 per year (estimated figure shown on source posting)
  • Employment type: Full-time (contractor classification may apply per client’s arrangement)
  • This is a development position with structured training and defined progression to more senior completions responsibilities

Why This Role?

This role is designed for candidates who want hands-on field experience paired with technical development. You will gain direct exposure to well completions, stimulation programs, and real-time problem solving on live operations — then bring those lessons into design and optimization work in the Houston office.
