Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Community Supervision Officer I in Lowell, AR. This entry-level, full-time role supports public safety by supervising individuals on probation or parole, enforcing court-ordered conditions, and promoting successful reintegration through case management and referrals. The position will primarily support Walnut Ridge Drug Court and work in Lawrence and Randolph counties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a caseload of low- to moderate-risk probationers and parolees.
  • Conduct office visits, home visits, and employment verifications.
  • Develop individualized case plans addressing risks, needs, and rehabilitation goals.
  • Monitor compliance with court-ordered conditions including treatment, employment, and community service.
  • Perform random drug and alcohol screenings and document/report results.
  • Investigate, document, and report violations; assist in preparing violation reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, courts, attorneys, and treatment providers.
  • Refer clients to vocational training, education, and behavioral health resources.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and use case-management software to track progress and risk.
  • Prepare reports for court proceedings, parole board reviews, and interagency meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, psychology, social work, or a related field, OR
  • Two years of experience in social services, human services, corrections, or law enforcement.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in Lowell, AR and travel within assigned counties as required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Must be able to obtain certification as a specialized police officer by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards Commission (per ACA 12-9-106) within one year of employment.
  • Other job-related education or experience may be substituted for basic requirements (except certification/licensure) with approval.

Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of probation/parole and case management principles.
  • Ability to assess risk and apply appropriate supervision strategies.
  • Knowledge of criminal justice procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to de-escalate and negotiate compliance.
  • Compassionate yet firm approach to accountability and rehabilitation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with case management software and standard office tools.

Compensation & Location

  • Salary range: $50,845 – $75,251 per year.
  • Anticipated starting salary: $50,844.98.
  • Location: Lowell, AR (primary work in Walnut Ridge Drug Court / Lawrence & Randolph counties).
  • This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing. Per agency policy and Arkansas law, medical marijuana use is prohibited for safety-sensitive employees.
