What you’ll do / Responsibilities

Confidential Client expects Community Supervision Officers to manage caseloads, support rehabilitation and public safety goals, and perform enforcement and investigative duties.

• Wear a uniform, badge, and department-issued firearm; complete required weapons and defensive-technology qualifications (firearms, Taser, OC spray).
• Manage a caseload: create case plans, conduct community surveillance, enforce probation/parole conditions, investigate violations, and prepare case recommendations.
• Prepare and maintain case files: background checks, DNA/drug testing, fingerprinting, photographs, detailed case notes, reports, and sentence computations.
• Conduct screenings and assessments, and coordinate with counselors and treatment providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and make appropriate referrals to treatment and support services.
• Conduct interviews, prepare testimony, and appear in court or revocation hearings.
• Perform arrests and searches in office and field settings.
• Complete other related duties as assigned and successfully finish the Field Training Officer (FTO) program.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must meet prerequisites and complete Georgia P.O.S.T. Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT). This training includes firearms and defensive tactics qualifications and requires medical clearance.
• Must meet legal requirements for peace officers per the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications

Preference given to candidates who have two or more of the following:

• Degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, public administration, or a related field.
• Internship, practicum, or volunteer experience in probation, parole, corrections, law enforcement, social services, or human services.
• Knowledge of evidence-based supervision practices and basic case management principles.
• Experience preparing written reports, case notes, or legal documentation.
• At least one year working with diverse populations while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Experience conducting interviews, intakes, or assessments.
