Position overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Commodity Risk Management Associate to join their dairy and food service risk team in Salem, OR. This role is a development-focused position where you will learn commodity risk management, support trade execution and reconciliations, and help expand the client base in livestock and dairy risk solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Complete a risk management training curriculum with classroom and on-site learning under experienced Risk Management Consultants
- Pursue licensing and become a Livestock Insurance Agent
- Support margins, daily trade checks and confirmations, and trade entry
- Respond to customer service email inquiries and assist with new-account paperwork
- Assist in execution of futures, options and swaps to support client strategies
- Monitor commodity price inputs, maintain basis pricing, and run historical matrix calculations
- Produce and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly commodity price analysis and manage recipient lists
- Support research, market-data feed design, and maintenance of the market research library
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks as needed
- Use Salesforce and research databases to qualify leads and support marketing campaigns
- Review client counterparty financials and help prepare credit exposure and evaluation reports
- Maintain punctual, reliable attendance and follow compliance procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Business, Ag Economics, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
- High integrity, curiosity, tenacity, and a strong work ethic
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, time-sensitive trade-room environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer

Compensation
- Estimated compensation: $65,167 per year (estimated; actual pay may vary based on experience and location). This role offers compensation typical for entry-level financial services positions in the region.
