Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring a Commercial Associate to join a Global Commercial Banking team focused on the Technology industry. This role supports commercial banking relationship managers and product partners by delivering data-driven industry research, client-ready pitchbooks and presentation materials, and financial analysis that informs client strategy and deal execution. The position is based in Los Angeles, CA and supports in-office collaboration with flexibility as appropriate for role needs.


What You’ll Do

  • Support analysis of market and industry data to uncover insights for client/prospect meetings, pitchbooks, and relationship reviews.
  • Prepare client presentations, pitch materials and relationship summaries with Relationship Managers and Market Executives.
  • Use financial statements and cash flow analysis to evaluate company performance and industry trends.
  • Produce economic and market insights and data visualizations that help tell a clear story for internal and client-facing interactions.
  • Observe and support credit approval and treasury solutions processes to understand product capabilities and packaging requirements.
  • Coordinate with product specialists (Credit, Treasury Management, FX, Wealth Management, Investment Banking) during transaction execution and client coverage.
  • Monitor client activity, perform portfolio optimization analyses, and surface expansion opportunities.
  • Support internal idea generation and contribute to execution for transactions and business development activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of professional or business experience (financial services or related analytical roles preferred).
  • Strong analytical thinking and financial modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable preparing client-ready slides and financial models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to summarize analysis clearly for client and internal audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with senior relationship managers.
  • Familiarity with corporate financial statements and cash flow interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or entry-level role in financial services, commercial banking, or corporate finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $85,000 - $125,000 annual (offers determined by experience, education and skill set).
  • Discretionary incentive eligible (annual awards based on performance and business results).

  • Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site/in-office expectations to support collaboration and development).
  • Shift: 1st shift (United States).
