Collections Analyst
The Collections Analyst is responsible for managing billing, collections, and accounts receivable in a high-volume environment by engaging customers to secure timely payments and resolving billing and cash application issues. This role supports audits, analytical reporting, and process improvements while collaborating with internal teams to ensure billing accuracy and maintain strong customer relationships. It is an entry-level, contract-to-hire position based onsite in St. Louis, MO, requiring a bachelor's degree and strong analytical and communication skills.

What You’ll Do
The Collections Analyst will support a confidential client’s billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions in a high-volume environment. This role focuses on securing timely customer payments, resolving billing and cash-application issues, maintaining accurate account records, and supporting audits and reporting to improve cash flow and billing accuracy.
- Contact customers by phone and email to secure timely payments, resolve disputes, and maintain positive relationships
- Investigate and correct billing discrepancies to ensure accurate invoices and account records
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to reduce past-due balances and keep accounts current
- Identify, investigate, and resolve cash application errors so payments are posted correctly
- Research and resolve chargeback deductions and related disputes
- Issue and distribute invoices timely and accurately
- Process new contracts and sales transactions to ensure proper billing setup and documentation
- Collaborate with sales, accounting, and other internal teams to verify billing details and support process improvements
- Prepare and present analytical reports to stakeholders and support monthly/quarterly audit activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field — or equivalent relevant work experience
- Entry-level to early-career candidates welcome; relevant coursework or internship experience in accounting, collections, or AR is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable preparing reports for stakeholders
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cash application and invoice review
- Professional phone and written communication skills for customer outreach and dispute resolution
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Proficiency with Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour (Contract-to-hire). Final offer within this range will depend on experience and other job-related factors.

Work Environment
- This is a fully onsite, Monday–Friday position in Wellston, MO (St. Louis metro area).
- Typical flexible start times between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.; employees may choose a half-hour or one-hour lunch break.
- This is a Contract-to-Hire, full-time role supporting accounting & finance operations for a confidential client.
