What You’ll Do
This role is a software-engineering position focused on building reusable cloud platform capabilities (Infrastructure-as-Code treated as software). You will work on platform frameworks, Terraform modules, CI/CD automation and platform libraries to enable secure, reliable cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS. This position is remote within the U.S. and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production software that safely manages large-scale cloud resources.
- Develop, test and enhance reusable Terraform modules, platform framework components and internal libraries using Java, C# or TypeScript
- Implement platform capabilities using Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, GitOps patterns and cloud-native automation
- Apply software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, dependency-graph reasoning, interface design and automated testing
- Contribute to code and design reviews to improve reliability, security, observability and maintainability of shared components
- Build and maintain GitLab pipelines for testing, validation, policy enforcement, packaging and safe infrastructure delivery
- Participate in on-call rotation, support incident response and convert operational learnings into automation, tests or documentation
- Work in an Agile delivery model (Scrum, Kanban or hybrid), maintain clear work items and technical documentation
- Use approved AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, troubleshooting and documentation workflows
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of software, platform or cloud engineering experience (or equivalent practical experience)
- Production software development experience in Java, C#, TypeScript or comparable general-purpose languages, including testing and debugging
- Practical Terraform experience: reusable modules, composition, dynamic constructs, state/backends, automated testing and CI/CD integration
- Deep practical expertise in at least three cloud infrastructure domains (in Azure or AWS): networking, DNS, IAM, certificates/PKI, private/hybrid connectivity, or Kubernetes
- Experience working in an Agile delivery model with disciplined backlog refinement, acceptance criteria and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to reason about data structures, algorithms and reusable software abstractions
- Ability to participate in a weekly on-call rotation and support incident response for platform capabilities the team owns
- Authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship not available, if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate-level or higher Azure/AWS certifications and demonstrated practical cloud expertise
- Experience with large or deeply composed Terraform codebases, multi-cloud abstractions, code generation, internal SDKs or custom policy frameworks
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD, CDK8s, AKS, EKS or other Kubernetes/GitOps tooling
- Deep specialization in one or more cloud infrastructure domains listed above
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development, RAG/MCP patterns or agentic workflows
- Willingness to adhere to the client’s telecommuter policy when working remotely
