Confidential Client is hiring for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Junior level) to support large-scale, mission-critical systems in the federal healthcare IT space. This hybrid role is based in Columbia, MD (Remote/Hybrid for candidates local to Maryland; Mon & Wed in-office expected).

Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Jr to help build, operate, and maintain cloud infrastructure that supports federal healthcare services. This role will work with AWS, Kubernetes, container tooling, Linux systems, and Infrastructure-as-Code to support secure, compliant systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of foundational cloud and infrastructure services.
• Integrate and support CI/CD toolchains, including testing, change management, and ongoing maintenance.
• Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources across environments while following security and compliance standards.
• Monitor performance, availability, and health of systems; escalate and troubleshoot infrastructure, network, and cloud service incidents.
• Participate in routine cloud operations: maintenance windows, patching, and configuration changes.
• Assist in incident response and conduct root cause analysis as needed.
• Document configuration, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of practical experience with AWS.
• 1+ years working with Kubernetes and Docker.
• 1+ years of Linux operations experience, including scripting (bash, Python).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work both independently and in a team.
• Must meet residency requirement: lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
• This position does not offer sponsorship.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance (or already hold one).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government programs or regulated environments (CMS experience preferred).
• Relevant certifications (AWS, Terraform, Linux, Kubernetes) are a plus.
• Familiarity with secure cloud operations and compliance frameworks relevant to federal healthcare.
