Role overview

Confidential Client (IT) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Entry-Level Cloud Computing / Data Engineer to join their technology team. This is an entry-level, full-time role for candidates with 0–2 years of experience — including recent graduates, bootcamp grads, interns, or those with personal/cloud projects. You’ll support data pipelines, cloud-based data solutions, and foundational data engineering tasks while learning from experienced engineers.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Collect, process, transform, and validate datasets from multiple sources.
• Write and optimize basic SQL queries for extraction and analysis.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Support cloud-based data storage and processing solutions.
• Develop basic data workflows using Python or similar languages.
• Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot processing issues.
• Assist in database and data warehouse development.
• Support data integration between applications, databases, and cloud services.
• Participate in testing, debugging, and deployment of data solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation for pipelines and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, DevOps engineers, and other teams.
• Follow security, data-quality, and development best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a related field — OR demonstrable project/bootcamp experience.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Programming experience with Python, Java, or a similar language.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT and data pipeline concepts.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts.
• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of databases, data structures, and data processing fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Exposure to AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, or EMR.
• Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, or Azure Synapse.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, or Dataflow.
• Basic knowledge of Apache Spark or PySpark.
• Familiarity with data warehouses and data lakes.
• Basic understanding of Docker and CI/CD.
• Exposure to Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals.
