Clinical Research Coordinator
The Clinical Research Coordinator at Confidential Client supports and coordinates clinical studies focused on participants with language difficulties, primarily within the Memory and Aging Center's Tee Lab. This role involves managing study protocols, recruiting and retaining subjects, collecting and managing data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and conducting community outreach, with a strong emphasis on bilingual communication in Mandarin and/or Cantonese to serve the Asian population in the Bay Area.

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator to support clinical research in the Memory and Aging Center. This role focuses on participant-facing coordination and bilingual outreach for studies that serve Mandarin- and/or Cantonese-speaking participants.
- Coordinate single- and multi-site clinical studies, including recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and retention of study participants
- Obtain informed consent and assist with participant visits, neuropsychological assessments, questionnaires, and medical history collection
- Translate study materials (surveys, consents) and provide interpretation (Mandarin and/or Cantonese ↔ English) for monolingual participants
- Collect, enter, clean, and maintain study data; assist with analysis and prepare routine reports and tables
- Ensure specimens are collected, labeled, stored, and shipped per protocol
- Support IRB/CHR submissions, renewals, and modifications and help maintain regulatory documentation
- Assist with community outreach, educational materials, and recruitment databases to drive enrollment among local Asian communities
Responsibilities (day-to-day)
- Study coordination & participant contact
- Identify, screen, and enroll eligible participants
- Schedule visits, send confirmations, and manage follow-up contacts
- Administer surveys and assist with neuropsychological testing (with standardized data collection)
- Data management & reporting
- Enter and clean data in study databases (REDCap, Qualtrics or similar)
- Maintain data collection forms and support queries, dataset creation, and analysis
- Regulatory & quality assurance
- Prepare and track IRB/CHR paperwork; support audits and ensure Good Clinical Practice compliance
- Maintain participant confidentiality and follow HIPAA and institutional research policies
- Outreach & community engagement
- Develop outreach materials and events targeted to local Asian communities
- Maintain recruitment metrics and offer strategies to improve enrollment and retention
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Native or near-native proficiency (spoken, read, written) in Cantonese and/or Mandarin plus English — bilingual and bicultural ability is essential
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for interacting with participants, clinical staff, and external partners
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations
Preferred
- Experience using CHR/IRB submission systems (iMEDris or similar)
- Experience with REDCap, Qualtrics, Access, Stata, SPSS/SASS, Teleform, or other research/data platforms
- Familiarity with neuropsychological assessment procedures and clinical research methods (screening, consenting, data collection)
- CITI or similar human subjects research training; bilingual medical interpreter certification a plus
- Experience with community outreach and recruitment targeting Asian populations
