What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support oncology-focused lifestyle and behavioral research. This is an entry-level, participant-facing role that combines clinic-based work with remote tasks and requires regular travel across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform chart review and pre-screening to identify eligible study participants.
- Maintain enrollment procedures and ensure adherence to protocol requirements.
- Coordinate routine study activities: schedule visits, manage participant tracking, and maintain study logs.
- Collect and manage study data (questionnaires, medical record review, and protocol-specific instruments).
- Conduct physical function assessments (e.g., hand grip, sit-to-stand) and biospecimen coordination.
- Place and educate participants on wearable devices (e.g., activity monitors, continuous glucose monitors).
- Obtain informed consent and conduct in-person and remote follow-up visits.
- Monitor and report adverse events to the PI/supervisor and support quality improvement efforts.
- Serve as a liaison between participants, clinic staff, investigators, and research team members to maintain engagement and resolve routine operational issues.
Department-Specific Functions
This position supports multiple clinic-collaborative studies across South Florida. Typical duties include:
- Regular travel to affiliated hospitals and outpatient oncology practices; represent the research program professionally in external clinical settings.
- Coordinate visit planning, preparation of study materials, and protocol-specific workflows across active studies.
- Maintain participant engagement and retention through proactive communication and community-facing outreach.
- Work flexible hours to meet participant and clinic scheduling needs (including early mornings or late afternoons).
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition Science, Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology, Nursing, Health Promotion, or a related field — required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant research experience.
- CCRC, CCRP, or CCRA certification preferred.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple studies and competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain informed consent and interact professionally with study participants.
- Comfort working independently in clinical environments while maintaining protocol compliance.
- Ability to process and protect confidential information with discretion.
- Flexibility to work evenings, nights, or weekends as required.
- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred; Haitian Creole proficiency highly desirable.
