What You’ll Do
This Contract-to-Hire Clinical Laboratory Technician role supports a Central Clinical Laboratory and specialty labs that perform high-volume automated and manual testing to support patient diagnosis and treatment. You will work onsite in Rochester, MN and gain hands-on experience with advanced analytical instruments and participate in activities that support clinical test development and quality outcomes.
- Perform clinical testing across general chemistry, immunoassay, coagulation, hematology, renal and cardiovascular assays.
- Run both highly automated and manual assays (e.g., enzyme assays, lipid metabolism tests, nutritional assays).
- Operate, monitor, calibrate, and troubleshoot instruments such as mass spectrometers, ELISA platforms, chromatography systems, flow cytometers, spectrometers, electrophoresis units and automated chemistry analyzers.
- Accurately process patient specimens—labeling, preparation, handling and storage per protocol.
- Follow and document laboratory procedures, quality control, instrument maintenance and regulatory compliance activities.
- Collaborate with laboratory colleagues and clinical staff to ensure timely results and resolve issues.
- Participate in research and validation studies for new clinical tests and performance/outcomes assessments.
- Maintain a safe, organized workspace and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience) — required.
- Laboratory experience (academic, clinical, or industry) preferred; coursework or practicum in clinical assays is a plus.
- Familiarity with automated analyzers and basic troubleshooting; experience with advanced instrumentation (e.g., mass spec, flow cytometry) is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, good documentation practices, and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work onsite in Rochester, MN, on a full-time schedule; flexibility for shift coverage as required.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour. Actual pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, geographic factors and other job-related considerations.
