Clinical Laboratory Scientist
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS Generalist) performs high-quality diagnostic testing and specimen processing in compliance with CLIA and CAP standards. This role involves conducting immunoassays, hematology, microbiology, molecular testing, and NGS library preparation to support patient care and research initiatives in a fast-paced, onsite laboratory environment. Required Qualifications & Skills
- Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Generalist license
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Molecular Biology, or related scientific discipline
- Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and laboratory quality/regulatory standards
- Experience performing qualitative and quantitative testing on clinical specimens
- Proficiency in specimen processing, test analysis, and result reporting
- Strong documentation, quality control, and SOP-driven laboratory practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work the assigned overnight schedule (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) and alternating weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years' experience in clinical, biotechnology, biomedical, or diagnostic laboratory settings
- Hands-on experience with immunoassays (e.g., ELISA), hematology, microbiology, and molecular techniques
- Experience with NGS (next-generation sequencing) library preparation
- Familiarity with laboratory audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
- Open to entry-level candidates who hold a CLS Generalist license
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing and procedures in accordance with CLIA and CAP requirements
- Process clinical specimens and ensure accurate test performance and prompt result reporting
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of blood, urine, and other clinical samples
- Carry out immunoassay, hematology, microbiology, and molecular laboratory testing as assigned
- Prepare and optimize NGS library-preparation workflows for clinical specimens
- Accurately document laboratory results, quality-control activities, and testing procedures
- Collect, review, and record data following established SOPs and documentation standards
- Monitor testing quality and maintain adherence to compliance standards
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership to prioritize testing activities and workflows
- Support internal and external audits and report compliance concerns promptly
- Assist with laboratory record maintenance, administrative tasks, and continuous process improvements

Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $42.00 - $60.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range depends on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
