What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on patient samples. This role covers pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical tasks, with responsibility for quality control, equipment maintenance, documentation, and accurate reporting.
- Process and accession patient samples; handle specimen transport and pre-analytical workflows
- Perform laboratory testing following standard operating procedures across all testing phases
- Set up, review, and document quality control; ensure QC is acceptable prior to patient testing
- Perform routine instrument/equipment maintenance and document activities in maintenance logs
- Troubleshoot instrument issues and coordinate service/repairs to minimize downtime
- Follow inventory procedures: assist with ordering, labeling, receiving, and stocking supplies
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and adhere to laboratory safety and regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff and document results clearly and accurately
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license (required)
- Minimum: 1 year of clinical laboratory experience (including internship experience may be considered)
- Demonstrated competency in laboratory testing, quality control procedures, and instrument operation
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient with laboratory information systems and basic computer skills
- Able to work independently, solve problems, and escalate appropriately
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and regulatory compliance
- Ability to follow SOPs and maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
Work Schedule & Compensation
- Employment type: Full-time (Day shift)
- Location: Los Angeles, CA (onsite)
- Estimated compensation: $69,804 per year (estimated). Actual pay may vary based on experience and final offer.
