What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Clinical Informatics Specialist to support the Oncology Service Line. You will help coordinate, integrate, and analyze clinical processes across the health system using clinical information technology, process design, and evidence to improve patient care, quality, and financial outcomes.
- Assist development and operations of informatics work as an individual contributor for a specific department or service.
- Facilitate EMR adoption and build relationships with clinicians to promote technology adoption and clinical practice standards.
- Help ensure IT systems support high-reliability clinical goals and a seamless experience for patients and providers.
- Participate on clinical and operational improvement teams to develop and refine clinical designs, requirements, and workflows.
- Translate clinical requirements into specifications for IT teams and help facilitate stakeholder and governance approvals.
- Actively participate in safety initiatives and implement risk-mitigating measures to maintain compliance.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles, technical and procedural documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between providers, clinicians, and information system leadership.
- Collaborate across the organization to implement change, support informatics capability development, and help deliver educational content and training as needed.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Certifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Licensed healthcare professional (examples: Registered Nurse, Medical Technologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist) or equivalent clinical training and scope of practice as required by the role and state licensure.
Preferred:
- Degree in Clinical Informatics.
- Board certification in Clinical Informatics (preferred).
- Epic certifications (preferred).
- Quality, safety, or process improvement certifications (e.g., Agile, LEAN).
Experience & Skills
- ~3 years’ experience in a clinical specialty; at least 1 year in a complex healthcare setting in that clinical field.
- At least 1 year of experience in clinical informatics and Epic Clinical Applications.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements (HITECH, HIPAA Privacy & Security, CMS guidelines) and developing proficiency applying them.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical practice, healthcare administration, patient safety, and clinical information management.
- Developing skills to support data systems, analyze complex data sets for clinical/operational issues, and produce actionable insights.
- Developing change management and project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Experience or familiarity with quality improvement and IT methodologies (Agile, LEAN, Product, ITIL).

Work Location & Schedule
- This position is primarily hybrid with required onsite travel among the Confidential Client’s Cancer Center locations in the Greensboro, NC area. Onsite presence at clinical sites is required as needed.
- Employment type: Full-time.
Compensation
- Estimated salary: $70,695 per year (estimated). Actual pay may vary based on experience, licensure, and internal equity. Where applicable, final compensation will comply with state and local pay transparency laws.
