Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (Cardiac Rehab) to support cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation across inpatient and outpatient settings in Mesa, AZ. In this role you will assess clinical status, write individualized exercise prescriptions, lead supervised exercise sessions, monitor vitals/ECG, and provide patient education to support safe recovery and long-term wellness.


What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and limitations and develop individualized plans of care and exercise goals.
  • Create and progress exercise prescriptions for phase I–III cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Lead and supervise exercise sessions while monitoring vitals, ECG, symptoms, and safety.
  • Educate patients and families on pathology, discharge guidelines, risk-factor modification, medication/lifestyle education, breathing techniques, and home exercise programs.
  • Document treatments and patient progress in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nursing, therapists) and escalate clinical concerns when appropriate.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot rehabilitation equipment; follow quality-control and safety procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or a related field.
  • At least a 300+ hour internship or equivalent clinical/patient experience in cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary physiology, chronic disease management, health promotion, and ECG interpretation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology or related field.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • 600+ hour internship in outpatient cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Previous experience overseeing phase III outpatient cardiac/pulmonary programs.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Location: Mesa, AZ (on-site at Confidential Client’s cardiovascular facility).
  • Employment Type: Full-time.
  • Shift options: 3 x 12-hour shifts or 4 x 10-hour shifts; Monday–Friday scheduling pattern.
  • Estimated pay: $64,956 per year (estimated).
