The Clinic Dietitian at Confidential Client's Diabetes and Kidney Center provides comprehensive medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process to develop and monitor individualized nutrition plans. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Clinic Dietitian to deliver high-quality medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and outpatient nutrition services for patients with diabetes, kidney disease, and related conditions. You will use the Nutrition Care Process to assess, diagnose, implement, monitor and adjust individualized nutrition care plans, and you will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary care team to support improved patient outcomes.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process and document care in the electronic medical record.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans including diet modification, supplements, nutrition support and patient education.
- Monitor patient progress using clinical indicators (labs, weight, outcomes) and adjust interventions as needed.
- Deliver tailored nutrition education to patients, families and caregivers in clinic and community settings.
- Collaborate with providers, nurses and other clinicians in rounds and care planning to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support protocol/policy development.
- Mentor and precept dietetic interns, students and new staff as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- After January 1, 2024: Master’s degree in dietetics or an equivalent degree meeting Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements.
- If credentialed as a Registered Dietitian prior to January 1, 2024: Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or degree that meets Academy requirements is acceptable.
- Successful completion of an ACEND-accredited internship, coordinated undergraduate program, or accredited postgraduate program.
- Preferred: 1 year acute clinical dietitian experience for entry-level practice, or 3+ years for advanced practice.
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Dietitian credential required (Commission on Dietetic Registration).
- State licensure or certification required for the state where care is provided (must obtain/maintain Iowa licensure for this posting in Cedar Rapids, IA).
- Preferred certifications (not required): Certified Diabetes Educator (NCBDE), Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (NBNSC), and relevant CDR specialty board certifications (Oncology, Gerontology, Renal, Pediatrics Critical Care).
- Mandatory reporter training as required by state law (Child Abuse and Adult Dependent Abuse training in IA/IL where applicable) within required timeframes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary: $72,620 per year (estimated).
- $10,000 sign-on bonus (as noted by the client).

Schedule & Location
- Onsite role — Cedar Rapids, IA (Cedar Rapids metropolitan area).
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
