What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level, full-time Client Associate role in music business management based in Beverly Hills, CA. You will learn the foundations of business management while supporting core accounting and client services functions for the Confidential Client’s artist and creative clientele.
Key responsibilities:
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable, including approvals, funding transfers, and remittance handling; escalate anomalies to managers.
- Maintain income tracking schedules, weekly cash balances, and cash flow reports.
- Keep organized financial documentation for client activity.
- Perform bank, credit card, and road cash reconciliations; research discrepancies and record journal entries as needed.
- Prepare commissions, rebills, and Personal Expense Worksheets for client entities.
- Maintain Contract Control Files (CCF); track tour and merchandise settlements.
- Reconcile royalty statements and maintain royalty trackers.
- Enter and support payroll processing in coordination with third-party providers; assist with related tax reporting and reconciliation.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns and compile supporting documentation where required.
- Support 1099 compliance, assist with multi-state individual/corporate/LLC tax prep, and help with tax savings analysis and state withholding reporting.
- Identify missing or inconsistent information and follow through to resolution.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and external contacts.
As you grow in the role (timelines approximate):
- After ~6 months: prepare basic financial reports (clearing holding accounts, verifying balance sheet integrity, quarterly payroll summaries, commission reconciliations).
- After ~12 months: prepare budgets and tax projections for select clients.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum: Two (2) semesters of college-level accounting coursework.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Music Business, or related field.
- Proficiency in Excel is required.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and general ledger processes is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage recurring tasks to meet deadlines.
- High degree of confidentiality and independent judgment.
Compensation & Location
- Hourly pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour (Beverly Hills, CA).
- This is a full-time, Monday–Friday, on-site role in Beverly Hills, California.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Extended screen time across multiple monitors and software systems.
- Occasional extended hours during peak periods (tax season, quarterly reporting).
