Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking entry-level Claims Representatives to join a Workers' Compensation Training Program based in Cedar, MO (Jefferson City area). This is a full-time, office-based opportunity that begins with a structured, paid training program and hands-on onboarding. The role is ideal for strong communicators who want a career in claims adjusting and workers' compensation administration.


What you’ll do

  • Complete a comprehensive, concept-based 4-week training program followed by a guided onboarding period with an assigned mentor and manager.
  • Adjust workers' compensation claims at entry level under close supervision.
  • Process and respond to incoming mail, emails, and claim-related documents.
  • Communicate professionally with injured workers, employers/insureds, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives by phone, video, and email.
  • Collect and review medical records, employer reports, witness statements, and other evidence to investigate claims.
  • Verify employer/employee relationships, policy coverage, and identify subrogation or potential fraud indicators.
  • Determine coverage, compensability, and appropriate benefits consistent with jurisdictional guidelines and client program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate claim files, code claim activity, and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Administer indemnity and medical benefits, maintain calendared action items, and ensure state compliance.
  • Participate in virtual or in-person training sessions, claim reviews, and team meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Customer service experience (e.g., 1–2 years) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to manage electronic documentation and calendaring.
  • Ability to work in an office environment and participate in training sessions.

Work environment & accommodations

Compensation & benefits

As required by law, Confidential Client provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency. For the jurisdiction noted in this posting, the starting pay for this role is $25.65/hr. Actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
