About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Claims Representative (IAP) as part of a Workers' Compensation Training Program based in Tumwater, WA. This is a full-time, office-based role that begins with a structured training program designed to prepare you for claims handling and career growth within claims administration.
What You’ll Do
- Attend and complete a comprehensive, concept-based 4-week training program followed by onboarding and mentor-supported on-the-job training.
- Adjust various levels of workers’ compensation claims under close supervision.
- Process and respond to incoming mail, email, and claim-related documents according to claim status.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with injured workers, employers/insureds, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives via phone, video, and email.
- Gather and evaluate information—including medical records, employer reports, and witness statements—to investigate claims.
- Verify employer/employee relationships, policy coverage, and identify potential subrogation or fraud indicators.
- Determine coverage and compensability and administer appropriate benefits in accordance with jurisdictional guidelines and carrier program requirements.
- Document claim files accurately, code activity correctly, and prepare detailed reports of findings and recommendations.
- Maintain calendared claim-related action items to ensure compliance with state requirements.
- Participate in virtual and/or in-person claim reviews, training sessions, and business meetings as required.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2 years of customer service experience preferred, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Comfortable using computers and standard office software.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle work-related stress appropriately.

Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated annual pay (source): $65,832 per year (estimated).
- For Tumwater, WA, the stated starting pay for this jurisdiction is $25.65/hr.
