Role Overview
This is an entry-level Claims Representative position enrolled in a structured Workers' Compensation training program. The role begins with a concept-based 4-week training class followed by onboarding and on-the-job mentoring. You will learn to investigate, document, and administer workers' compensation claims while supported by a mentor and manager and given clear paths for growth and advancement.
What You’ll Do
- Complete a 4-week professional claims training program and assigned onboarding activities.
- Adjust and manage workers' compensation claims under close supervision.
- Process incoming claim documents (mail, email, electronic files) and update claim status.
- Communicate with injured workers, employers/insureds, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives by phone, video, and email.
- Investigate claims: collect medical records, employer reports, witness statements, verify coverage, and identify potential subrogation or fraud indicators.
- Determine coverage, compensability, and appropriate benefits consistent with jurisdictional rules and carrier programs.
- Document claim activity thoroughly, code files correctly, and prepare clear reports of findings and recommendations.
- Administer indemnity and medical benefits and maintain calendared claim action items to ensure compliance with state requirements.
- Participate in meetings, claim reviews, and training sessions (virtual and/or in-person) as needed.

Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: ~2 years of customer service experience preferred, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Technical: Comfortable with standard office software and keyboarding; ability to learn claims systems.
- Other: Sound judgment, problem-solving ability, ability to manage stress and meet deadlines.
Work Environment & Accommodations

Compensation & Benefits
As required by law, a reasonable range of compensation is provided for jurisdictions requiring pay transparency. For the jurisdiction noted in this posting, the stated starting pay is $25.65 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, and location.
