Overview

This is an entry-level, on-site Claims Representative trainee role in West Hills, CA focused on workers' compensation. The position includes a structured training program, onboarding with a mentor, and the opportunity to advance into claims adjusting roles. What You’ll Do

• Attend and complete a 4-week concept-based training program and onboarding.
• Work under close supervision while learning claims adjusting basics for workers' compensation.
• Process and respond to incoming mail, emails, and claim-related documents according to claim status.
• Communicate professionally with injured workers, employers/insureds, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives via phone, video, and email.
• Gather and review relevant information (medical records, employer reports, witness statements) to investigate claims.
• Verify employer/employee relationships, policy coverage, and identify potential subrogation or fraud indicators.
• Determine coverage and compensability and recommend appropriate benefits following jurisdictional guidelines and carrier requirements.
• Document claim file activity, prepare reports, and maintain calendared claim action items to ensure state compliance.
• Participate in meetings, claim reviews, and training sessions (virtual or in-person) as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• For this role in West Hills, CA the disclosed starting pay for this jurisdiction is $27.69 per hour.
