Civil Site Designer
The Civil Site Designer at Confidential Client supports the Community Development team by preparing detailed site and civil design plans for land development projects including residential, commercial, and industrial sites. This role involves collaboration with clients and government agencies, design documentation, and occasional site visits to ensure quality and compliance. It offers an opportunity to work on impactful transportation and infrastructure projects within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

What You’ll Do
- Support project teams in development of design documentation, construction plans, and technical reports for land development and community development projects.
- Prepare site/civil plans including grading, water and sewer infrastructure, and roadway layouts.
- Design stormwater management systems and erosion & sediment control plans.
- Assist with survey plan preparation and topographic base plan development.
- Perform ordinance/code and deed research, cost estimation, and prepare permitting applications.
- Participate in project reviews with clients and government agencies; support construction observation as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to meet schedule and quality targets; step in across team tasks to keep projects on track.
Who We’re Looking For
- Self-starter with a strong attention to detail and a diligent work ethic.
- Clear, professional communicator able to collaborate on project teams and engage in creative problem solving.
- Ability to visualize 3D site concepts from drawings and diagrams.
- Initiative to coordinate tasks across team members and follow through to completion.
- Hands-on experience with relevant software (examples: AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, GIS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of relevant site/civil design experience preferred.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred; may be required within the first two years of employment.
- Prior experience at a land development engineering firm is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range (where required by law): $76,800 — $107,500 annually (range provided in source for certain locations, including NJ). Final pay will be based on qualifications, experience, and location.
