Confidential Client is seeking a Civil Engineering New Graduate to join their Bettendorf, IA office (full-time, in-office). This entry-level role provides hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience on municipal, transportation, and public-works projects. What You’ll Do
- Assist with engineering analysis, design, field inspections, and technical report writing
- Prepare permit applications and support site drainage and grading design
- Perform basic engineering calculations (hydraulics, traffic, piling, rebar, earthwork balance)
- Support design of water and sewer systems for private and municipal projects
- Assist with grading and stormwater design for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans
- Gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and help maintain client relationships
- Support project execution tasks including planning, scheduling, documentation, and budget tracking
- Analyze low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks with guidance from senior engineers
- Participate in quality control and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technology
- Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance and apply state/local design criteria
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering or equivalent required
- Internship experience in building design or consulting preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Basic skills or familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D; ability and willingness to complete training quickly
- Knowledge of design techniques, technical plan production, and specification development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving aptitude
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
- Able to travel up to 5% for project needs
