What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Civil Engineer to support civil engineering analysis, design, field inspections, permit preparation, and site drainage and grading design. This role provides hands-on design and project execution experience with direct mentorship and training.

  • Perform basic civil engineering calculations (hydraulic, traffic, piling/rebar checks, and earthwork balance)
  • Assist in design of water and sewer systems for private and municipal projects
  • Support grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential sites
  • Conduct field inspections and help prepare technical reports and permit submittals
  • Work within project budgets and schedules to support project delivery
  • Document design decisions, track project progress, and support quality-control processes
  • Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information clearly
  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams (survey, transportation, municipal) to deliver integrated solutions
  • Stay current with industry best practices and contribute to process improvements and innovation
  • Prioritize safety and ensure regulatory compliance to applicable state and local criteria

What You’ll Bring

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering or equivalent required

Required skills & abilities

  • Basic familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (ability to complete training quickly)
  • Understanding of design techniques, drafting of technical plans, and preparation of specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel up to ~5% (occasional overnight stays)
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a consulting environment

Preferred

  • Internship experience in building design or civil consulting
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certificate preferred

About the Team

The team supports site civil and survey work across Southern California and the Southwest, including projects for clients in transportation, municipal, education, healthcare, and industrial markets.

  • Site civil and ADA design work for major clients
  • Strong K‑12 and higher‑education project experience
  • Recent project examples: medical center site work and modular classroom site improvements

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges (by jurisdiction, provided in source posting):

  • Nevada (this location): $72,000 - $76,500 per year
  • California (if applicable): $74,000 - $79,000 per year

Actual pay depends on factors such as experience, skills, and location. Additional rewards may include bonuses and stock/ownership benefits. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid holidays, PTO, and other employee programs.
