What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Civil Engineer / Scheduler role supporting project controls and construction management for heavy‑civil and commercial projects. You will work closely with senior staff to develop and maintain CPM schedules, support time‑impact analyses, and help prepare schedule-driven reports for contractors, owners, and design teams. This role provides on-the-job training and mentorship with clear career progression opportunities.

  • Assist senior staff in developing and maintaining CPM schedules (Primavera P6 experience is a plus)
  • Update schedule logic, track progress, and prepare as‑built vs. baseline analyses
  • Support time entitlement and delay/acceleration analyses
  • Prepare clear schedule reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for stakeholders
  • Attend project meetings, perform site visits as needed, and coordinate information with field teams
  • Read and interpret contract plans, specifications, and project constraints
  • Support change order validation and cost-prep tasks as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain project schedules using CPM principles (Primavera P6 or similar)
  • Capture progress updates and revise forecasts; identify critical path impacts
  • Produce schedule narratives, summaries, and graphic exhibits for project teams
  • Assist with claims documentation, change order back-up, and entitlement analyses
  • Coordinate schedule inputs from subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Learn and grow technical skills under mentorship from senior project controls staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of engineering or construction experience (internship experience counts)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and contract specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required and work in a field environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Hands-on exposure to heavy civil construction (bridge, highway, rail, utilities)
  • Experience or coursework using Primavera P6 or other CPM scheduling tools
  • Internship or prior role supporting project controls, scheduling, or estimating

  • Estimated base pay: $92,272 per year (estimated)
